I’ve danced to TikToks on live TV, grilled kebabs for the EU, and covered presidential elections across three continents. My job? Telling stories that stick.
You:
What topics do you actually cover?
Alex:
Politics, law, culture, and power. I’ve covered elections in the U.S., Russia, and the EU. Reported on the foreign agents law in Georgia, political prisoners in Russia, and blackouts in Spain.
I especially love covering cultural and social stories - reporting with people, not just about them. Having lived in Russia, the U.S., Germany, Czechia, Spain, and Poland, I know how to find a way to everything - and everyone.
I work as a journalist and anchor at Current Time TV — a global Russian-language news channel run by RFE/RL, which reaches over 47 million people weekly. I report, host, and produce original stories for broadcast and digital.
Russia’s leading independent news channel, known for its critical coverage and bold reporting, reaching millions across Russian-speaking audiences. I managed social media, digital strategy and assisted with coverage.

Alright, that’s a lot of ground to cover - elections, protests, Vatican smoke, and TikTok. Isn’t there a risk of missing the point when you’re spread across so many topics? What actually makes you a good journalist and storyteller?
Alex:
With a law degree from Russia’s top university and a master’s in European Politics and Society (studied in Czechia, Spain, and Poland, graduated summa cum laude), I bring structure, nuance, and global context to every story.
I’ve covered elections on three continents, but I can also turn a food fight into a policy debate or explain social media trends with the depth of a political analyst. I’ve worked for RFE/RL and Current Time TV - reaching 47 million people weekly - where I write, host, shoot, voice, and edit everything I produce. I’ve anchored breaking news, profiled dissidents, interviewed cultural icons, and made complex topics go viral.
